Aranjay zoomed through the adding basic fractions task. I attempted to explain adding fractions with different denominators, which was not too successful, and I will follow up next year. Graphing points went very well, and I left the two digit multiplication for homework after he did the first question
Aranjay's listening skills can be challenging to work with, as he has a talent of changing the conversation topic. He claimed he knew how to do the two digit multiplication, but after reviewing the homework the following week, I was told by his mother that he struggled to complete it. I will continue to work on areas that involve two sections of working

Aranjay drew the reflections quickly and accurately, and also proceeded to show me the "harder shapes" he did in class. After some explaining, he drew the single lines of symmetry accurately. He had fun calculating the ages of himself, myself and his grandfather in the far future.
Aranjay needed a bit of explanation with the lines of symmetry, and I found that visual aid helped him greatly, using the other worksheet with him drawing the reflections. He seemed to understand a "mirroring" aspect after some explanation, with some confusion that was corrected. I am curious as to how he will go about marking shapes with multiple lines of symmetry, and I did warn him in advance that the homework had harder shapes with multiple lines.

Very good session, Aranjay already knew the trick of multiplying the single numbers then adding a zero on the end for the tens multiplication. He zoomed through the addition puzzles, with minor errors and was super curious about the 3D shapes exercise. These topics were clearly easy for him, so I will begin to increase difficulty and prepare him for topics he will come across in the next couple of years.
Today's session was very good, with a slight mishap of Aranjay taking the iPad and playing youtube videos, all was well.

Aranjays confidence is growing, and he new what the questions were asking of him, but was unsure of how to achieve the goals. Completed the worded questions with minimal mistakes.
The missing number puzzles confused him, as he wasn't aware he had to sometimes swap between addition and subtraction. The fraction comparison were using tricky fractions, trying to find the bigger fraction (eg 5/11 versus 4/9), so he did struggle, but I am not worried as it is grade 5 stuff, and very advanced. He can compare well with basic fractions.
