What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
What I enjoy most about tutoring is the opportunity to see students gain confidence in themselves as they learn. It's incredibly rewarding to help them understand something they once found challenging and to watch their skills and independence grow over time. I also love the process of tailoring lessons to their individual interests and needs as it keeps the learning dynamic and engaging for both of us
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
from my past experiences with private tutoring and interacting with children, I believe every student is unique. They are not simply empty vessels waiting to be filled with information. As tutors, we can always tap into their interests and existing knowledge, using these as foundations to design effective resources and tailored approaches to tutoring.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is to filter out ineffective or unfit resources to ensure students can maximise their learning potential.it is also very important to create a supportive and encouraging environment where the student feels comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. Itβs about fostering a genuine love for learning and showing them that challenges are opportunities for growth.

About sophie
A Passionate Heart
Hi lovely people! I'm currently doing a Bachelor of Education (primary and secondary) in the Monash University. I had been a private tutor in Hong Kong for a Grade 3 student from an international school surrounding the subjects Maths, English and Science. Iβve also completed teaching placements in a variety of settings, including Melbourne, Fiji and a specialised school in Inverloch. These diverse experiences have strengthened my commitment to helping students reach their goals and making learning both engaging and effective.
My Pedagogy
I work closely with each student to identify their unique needs and learning style. My approach is focused on building confidence, improving problem-solving skills, and making abstract concepts more tangible.
Enthusiastic Team Player
Beyond academics, Sophie shines as an enthusiastic team player who knows how to engage students beyond the classroom setting. Her previous roles have equipped her with excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both children and adults. Parents can trust that Sophie will bring energy and dedication to helping their children succeed in Maths and English.
