What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most about tutoring is the opportunity to witness a student's growth; not just academically, but also in their confidence and passion for learning. It's incredibly rewarding to help a student understand a concept they initially struggled with and see their self-belief grow as a result. I know in my personal academic journey I benefitted greatly from having extra support in my learning from my tutor, so I really appreciate the opportunity for me to now offer this support to others. Ultimately, I enjoy knowing that I'm making a meaningful difference in someone's learning journey.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

My greatest strengths as a tutor are my relatability and my ability to tailor my approach to each student. Going from academic struglgles to academic excellence, I understand the challenges students may face and how to overcome them, which helps me connect with students and create a supportive, empathetic environment where they feel comfortable asking questions. With experience in tutoring students of varying ages and skill levels, I also excel at adapting my teaching to suit each student's unique learning style, to maximise their learning journey and efficiently achieve their goals.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Firstly, it is essential that a tutor encourages a comprehensive understanding of content, as opposed to rote learning in an attempt to 'get good grades'. For example, instead of simply making a student memorise a formula, a tutor should explain its theory, why it works and how to apply it in various contexts. This understanding ensures that they will be ready to answer any question that could appear on this concept, and also strengthen their memory of it. Finally, a tutor should foster a love of learning in their students, as this enthusiasm will set them on a path of life-long success.
