I feel accomplished when I see improvement in students' learning. It might also be something other than academic, such as becoming someone they want to be, when a student has a goal to work on rather than blindly studying rigidly.My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am creative in designing lesson plans and differentiation strategies tailored to each unique student with purposes and capabilities. For instance, multimodal teaching according to the learning styles of the students, gives them an agency to become independent learners. I am very patient and inclusive, and I always pay attention to details. For instance, if a student acts quite differently from his/her usual behaviours, I will treat it seriously and follow up. Based on my mental health first aid knowledge, he/she might experience adversities and they could be easily overlooked.Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Firstly, a positive relationship that creates an inclusive and secure learning environment. Secondly, not only focusing on qualification skills but also subjectification (student agency) and socialisation (fitting into society), linking students' experience to learning. Thirdly, teaching with a purpose, the ends (goals) and means (methods). Lastly, a balance between student- and tutor-centred learning.
