What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
Whether it's the gift of libraries, the power of universities, the wonders of museums, or the stimulating engagement of online learning on YouTube or Khan academy, one cannot overstate the power of education. Being a category of education, tutoring is an incredible form of tailored learning, for both children in school and adults who run businesses. It's worked for thousands of years, and provides a positive value to society. As for myself, my joy can be best described using a quote by Jeff Bezos, βwe donβt choose our passions, they choose usΓ’β¬.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
Some strengths include:
1. A strong background in communicating in many mediums and to a vast number of different people. I know how to adapt the language and overall pedagogical approach to make things understandable, whether being more clear, add more problems, focus on analogies, or being more simple.
2. The approach of my tutelage is parallel to the philosophy of teaching the student to fish, rather than giving them the basket. This empowers their learning for all the years ahead, no matter what subject or circumstance they face.
Most important things I can do for a student π
All my previous students have thanked me for teaching them the foundations, filling in any gaps before continuing on with new material. This gave them confidence in the subject and helped them achieve the highest grades in their academic career. It also provided them with an optimism to life, since if by doing well in school, they could see opportunities open to them for the future. All from this hard work paying off. They not only felt like they learnt something, but fell in love with learning and the power of being curious and diligent in their studies to improve their life.
