What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I have had a good repertoire of teachers from primary to high school who have helped me immensely and have made my university studies much easier to understand. I want to try to live up to their names and help other students with their life goals.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

My strengths as a tutor are communication and simplification of hard-to-understand topics. My favourite quote that I live by in my academic life is "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough" Albert Einstein. I believe simplifying complex problems is the easiest way to teach someone and also for that person to retain that information off the top of their head.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

From my experience as a student, the most important things my tutors have done for me are: - making the topic/problem easy to understand - making learning feel less stressful - reassuring and re-explaining concepts to me without making me feel like I'm lesser than I believe I am capable of providing these things to students

In 2021, I proudly secured first place in mathematics, showcasing my strong analytical skills and passion for the subject. In 2022, while attending St George Girls High School, I was honoured with a Certificate of Personal Excellence, recognizing my commitment to leadership and self-improvement. These accomplishments highlight my dedication to academic excellence and personal growth.

Extracurricular Activities

For the past year, I’ve been an active member of 2Connect Youth and Community, advocating for key issues affecting young people, such as the harmful effects of vaping and the importance of mental health. I’ve also taken part in events like R U OK Day, GRYfest, and Bayside Fair in Sydney. At school, I served on the SRC, where I helped raise donations for women’s shelters in honour of Women's Day. Currently, at university, I represent my peers as the course representative for CHEM1101 and CHEM1201.

Background

I am fluent in Bengali and English, both spoken and written. In 2021, I moved to Sydney, Australia, to study at Kogarah High School before earning a place at the academically selective St George Girls High School in 2022 through my efforts. I was later accepted into ANU through early entry, achieving a selection rank of 95.
