What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I love the moment when a child finally understands a topic being taught that they were struggling with. When I myself was tutored, that was the best feeling as well. I understand the struggles, so being a part of what makes kids engage better in school makes me very happy.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am a very patient person and have been throughout my life. I have especially learnt this through my job as a dance teacher, having to educate the foundational steps as a way to successfully progress. I also feel that I am a very confident person which can translate into more effective tutoring. This is because I can be sure of everything I am teaching and be a strong communicator with the students. Lastly I feel as I am an extremely reliable person. I will always be prepared for lessons to ensure the students have all the resources they could need and I will always be on time.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important things a tutor can do for a student is not only to teach, but to explain the “why?†behind everything. Explaining practicality and the reasons why something is taught can be useful all throughout their lives. Another useful thing I consider is the ability to teach skills the student will be able to apply themselves in the classroom. It is not effective tutoring if the student can only achieve success when the tutor is present. Lastly, I believe building a positive connection with students is important to allow a safe environment when it comes to asking questions.
