What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I genuinely find joy in supporting those around me. I’ve always been the go-to person for my friends when they needed help with their studies, and I take great satisfaction in being part of their learning process. There’s something deeply rewarding about guiding others through their academic challenges and sharing in their moments of discovery and growth.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I pride myself on being exceptionally patient with others and adept at adjusting to various learning styles. I understand that everyone learns differently, so I’m flexible in my approach, and able to adapt my pace and methods to meet each individual's needs. Whether someone requires a slower, more detailed explanation or a quicker overview, I am committed to providing the support that best suits their learning preferences.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Offer encouragement and support throughout their school experience, celebrating their achievements and helping them navigate challenges. Provide a listening ear and constructive feedback when needed, and always show them that you believe in their abilities and are invested in their success.

I had created questions to ask during the slides, and I found that Elias was able to retain the information better. Discussing the exam questions, and building strategy also works really well.
For next time, I want to ensure I ask more specific questions for the exam practice so that I can extend his active recall beyond just the question to start getting him to critically think.
Again, the slide show was really effective. A lot of information for one session, with quizzes seemed to solidify the content. Overall an excellent session.

For the next past paper we do together, I will look through it first and ensure I have extra questions to cover more content as we go through the past paper.

Elias is an active listener who recalls information well. He also said that he liked the presentation (Google Slides) that I made which contained the information he was missing. I will continue to do this as it works well.
Next time, I will ensure to add more practice questions at the end of the Google Slides, as this would allow Elias to retain the information better.

Gracie is really good at drawing and labelling fractions. She listens and likes to learn more of what she does not know, and is always eager to try. Also, Last time I noticed that she was yawning/seeming to lack focus half was through the lesson. To counter this, I spent 2/3 minutes with her taking a break and physically changing our states to break away from the lack of focus she seemed to be feeling. This worked well, as she regained focus afterwards.
I noticed that she struggles a bit with dividing in general. She knows that 6x3 is 18, but cannot seem to understand that it works backwards (18/6 = 3). When I showed her some examples, she seemed to understand. However, I want to go through this more with her so that she can excel at it.
