What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love helping others reach a "lightbulb" moment, in which a concept they've been struggling to comprehend all of a sudden clicks. I love these moments not just because of the happiness the person experiences when they finally "get" the concept but also because I have seen how having a moment like this can lift a person's confidence, which makes them want to apply themselves even more in the future. I think moments like these build a positive feedback loop that drives students towards success in both academics and their personal lives.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I have experience coaching a wide range of junior school and high school children and in both of those roles I learnt how powerful it is to have patience and enthusiasm when teaching, because I found that these attributes made the biggest impact on the children's engagement to the lesson. So I would bring lots of enthusiasm and patience into my tutoring sessions.
I am also driven to become a more proficient teacher because after my honours year (in 2025) I want to become a tutor at UNSW. So I would be eager to learn as much as I can from all the experienced tutors in the Ezymath team.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The ability to empower students to become better learners. I think this involves providing an array of study tools and general problem-solving methods to students, but I also think it is having the ability to instil both a passion for learning in a student and also confidence that the student can tackle any learning obstacle that comes their way, if they properly apply themselves. I think students who feel like this, and who are equipped with the right tools, go on to succeed in whatever type of work they find themselves doing in the future.
