What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

During my previous roles, I focused largely on one-to-one and group interventions to target areas of difficulty for each student. I enjoy being able to take tasks that students are struggling with, break them down into smaller parts and work on each part individually to allow students to gain a clear understanding without feeling overwhelmed. This is usually a great method of tutoring that benefits the student and I love seeing the sense of accomplishment and pride in themselves when the student realises that they are capable of something they previously thought they couldn't do.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

From both my work experience and my time spent living abroad, I have developed excellent communication and listening skills and found that I have been able to build great relationships with students, which allows them to feel supported during tutoring sessions and open themselves up to learning. I have patience and compassion, and genuinely enjoy seeing students flourish and being able to facilitate their academic and personal growth.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Some of the things I consider to be most important when tutoring are listening to the student to really understand what they are finding difficult, encouraging the student to persevere and not give up on themselves, and most importantly, finding a range of methods and techniques to use when tutoring. Every student learns in a different way and it is the tutor's responsibility to find the method that works best for each student. Making lessons engaging and fun as much as possible is also a great way to keep the student's interest and allow them a better chance of success.
