What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I love maths and physics so naturally I like talking about those subjects. But when I teach them to other people, it really helps me looking at the topic from the perspective of someone with no background. It feels like learning the concept all over again, discovering the nuisances and refreshing my theoretical knowledge. I love seeing the 'ah-hah' revelation moment on other people's faces. And then when they can utilise what I have taught to solve more difficult problems, that makes me feel very proud.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

From my strong physics and mathematics background, I can explain those concepts in simple terms. As a high-achieving student, I know that sometimes understanding a concept is not enough to perform well in an exam, but the student needs to know how to approach the problem, lay out their solutions, utilise the allowed resources to their advantage, ... those are the practical ways to achieve a successful high school result.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Help a student understand how to approach a problem, extract the important information, understand what is being asked, and the methodology of breaking the problem into small parts and solving one part at the time. If a tutor can do this, their students can not only understand one single concept but they will also know how to apply the studying method in learning new concepts
