Tabitha was able to adeptly articulate her mathematical thinking through the process of working out. We went through the cyclical process of long division and Tabitha clearly understood how long division is a dynamic comprising subtraction, multiplication and division, thus demonstrating the importance of this concept as it solidifies many areas of mathematical learning. At the lesson's conclusion, Tabitha was proficient and confident in solving long division problems, profound for her commencement of learning year 7 concepts in the syllabus, namely, fractions, decimals, percentages and probability.
Albeit Tabitha understood what we had learnt, she must ensure that she thoroughly reads a question and too harnesses utmost self-confidence when answering a question. Tabitha is also encouraged to speak aloud when working out, to ultimately make the working out process more cohesive and lessen some silly mistakes.

Tabitha expressed a keen interest to learn and understood the importance of needing to refine key basics in mathematics. This strengthened her engagement with me, especially when she misunderstood concepts and could openly express that she needed additional help.
Tabitha requires improvement in thoroughly expressing working out for a given question. This will ensure she gains as many marks as possible. She must further enhance her self-confidence in answering a question, which will transpire once she regularly practices mathematics. Next week, I shall deliver a lesson on long division which was an indicative area she needed to improve today.
