What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I love seeing the direct effects of my work and effort. So, seeing a child actually improve after a long period of hard work, collaboration and focus, it brings me immense happiness. Seeing anyone, let alone one of my own students, strive for their goals and succeed is a feeling of joy that is very much found in the tutoring/teaching industry.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think that I am a personable and amiable tutor that is still able to uphold their authority when students are not meeting expectations or behaving appropriately. I keep criticisms fair and honest, and also allow for direct discussion and communication at all times with the student. I prioritise a collaborative and friendly relationship over an adversarial one, as the latter leads to very little progress being made for the student's education.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Ideally, although admittedly ironic, you want a student to be able to stand on their own two feet and achieve their goals without the need of a tutor at some point. So, although the direct role of a tutor is to teach content, the wider, arguably more profound role of a tutor is to teach lifelong skills, habits, and techniques that students can continue to apply for their foreseeable future. That, I believe, is one of the most impactful aspects of being a tutor.
