I love to explain concepts to children and adolescents in words that they can understand. I believe practice is the best strategy to doing math problems, so I enjoy giving example problems to adolescents and demonstrate for them step by step so they understand the problem-solving process.My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths include strong mathematical knowledge, as I took advanced calculus in college, and I am familiar with all concepts from elementary school to high school level mathematics (algebra, geometry). Because of my strong foundation in mathematics, I was able to get a 770/800 on the SAT and 780/800 on the SAT II. I kept up with my math skills in college, as I scored a 164/170 on the GRE. I am patient with young kids and I am willing to thoroughly explain difficult problems step by step. I think the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to instill a sense of self-efficacy in the student, the belief that one is able to accomplish things and solve difficult problems through hard work and practice. A tutor should also provide constructive feedback to a student to foster student's progress.
