What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I love being able to help students the same way I was when I went through High School. I love being able to explain difficult topics so students are able to understand them and the satisfaction that students get when finally figuring out a complex topic. I was an average student myself but after tutoring I ended with one of the best results in my school. I aim to have students start to love their subject, the same way I was able to after I began tutoring.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

My strengths are my ability to simplify and breakdown difficult ideas. I do this in every day life, in uni and in my tutoring, I find ways to split difficult concepts into small pieces and simplify them well, then when putting it together it becomes extremely easy to answer. I also believe my ability to be patient and work well with people proves as a great strength. Furthermore, my experience and study of psychology and the mind allows me to understand the hurdles students face when studying and also provide individualised approaches to teaching depending on the students needs or mindset.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

As a tutor, its imperative to be patient and supportive while also challenging students. I like to use the Zone of Proximal Development as an example of teaching. I challenge them, but I support them at the same time, meaning they are able to push their limits and slowly expand their abilities while having the necessary support to feel comfortable and confident enough to do so. As a tutor, it is important that students are comfortable in the teaching environment, and also to build their confidence in the respective subject.
