What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy the unique opportunity it gives me to not only help others with their education, but to be able to be a role model for them and to be a good point of contact for everyday life. I understand the stressors of being a student and I think this provides me with good insight to be understanding with those that I am tutoring and gives the opportunity for me to be supportive of them in any way they may need.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think my strengths as a tutor are being able to understand individuals and the perspectives that they take. I can adapt my teaching to a way that others can understand it. Additionally, I am a very patient person and I think that this creates a safe and welcoming environment for learning.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing you can do for a student as a tutor is to give them the space the communicate. I think that in learning anything, you need to have an understanding of where others are coming from to be able to identify where they differ. This relates to tutoring because if there is a misunderstanding in a topic, I can identify where this is by listening to the student and noting where adjustments should be made in order for them to properly comprehend the content. This also provides a comfortable environment where the student feels comfortable to be open and share their thoughts.

We did more of a variety of question types and Katie is improving in her skills. Even if her initial answer is wrong, she is able to identify that it doesn't look right and will fix her mistakes. She continues to work very hard and improve. Keep up the work, Katie!
Continue working on multiplication/division, but overall nothing to note this week.

We worked through the problems together and Bella learned very quickly about how to approach them. The issue wasn't anything with her - it just wasn't shown to her properly by her learning program. Once she saw how approach the questions, she was fine with getting it on her own and showed no struggle. Great work Bella!
Nothing to note today.

Katie is continuing to work hard with her multiplication. I know this is an area of struggle for her but she does her best each session and is showing improvements. Great work overall, and with practice this topic will get easier. We also started division this session, there was a bit of confusion at first but overall I think Katie generally understands what she needs to do. Again, with practice this will become easier but Katie is very resilient and continues to work hard.
Practicing higher multiplication tables and committing those to memory will make the questions a bit easier. With more questions this will become more apparent. Great work overall Katie!
