What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy the relationship I build with each student, and getting to know them beyond what they can show me on paper. There has never been a dull moment in my role as a tutor, and I have found this experience very rewarding to watch each student grow in their academic confidence, whilst they apply their academic skillset to their work.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I have been able to adapt to a wide range of age groups (5-18) providing general support and guidance around study enhancement techniques, essay writing, and exam prep, whilst tailoring each lesson to a range of academic levels and age-appropriate needs, in a structured and engaging manner.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Tutors must foster growth, independence, and a goal-oriented mindset so that each student can strive to overcome learning challenges, recognise their milestones, and identify any incompetencies in their work. This will ultimately strengthen their academic confidence, and allow students to grow from their mistakes.

Felicity will need to work on bringing greater context to her points, and explaining her arguments in greater detail. Felicity has some really good ideas, and we will continue to work on how to express them through logos, ethos and pathos arguements.

Charlotte accurately identified the appropriate order of events, as seen in her narrative writing practice. We worked on cultivating an introduction using the 5 W's, and introducing her story, which was completed very well.
Charlotte is very good at using structure and objectivity to shape her writing, however, will need more practice with incorporating more adjectives and applying the "show, don't tell" principle when writing creatively.

Youssef was slower than usual, and appeared to be unmotivated. We can work together to make tasks less daunting for him, to improve his academic confidence. We will continue to work on his use of capital letters and full stops in upcoming lessons.
