The special thing about a tutor compared to a classroom teacher is that tutors deal with students on a much more personal level, with this, I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to understand and relate to the student personally his/her insights on the subject. Tutors can try to understand why the student either love,…

I strongly believe the most important thing a tutor can do is to always see the value a student can bring instead of focusing on their mistakes. I always see students as future leaders of our society hence it is very essential to motivate and encourage them to take bold steps in their academic journey and learn through their experience. My key…

I think the most important thing would be to show students that education is fun, it should never be boring. A good teacher should be able to explain and teach in a fun and intuitive way. My key strengths would be my technical knowledge and being able to understand not each student is alike, not each student learns the same way. Therefore…

A tutor is an important role and a mentor. Students select tutors because they have the enthusiasm to learn and perhaps do not have the resources needed which a tutor can fill in. I am calm, patient and have an insight to give my best so that people can benefit from me. I want children to excel and do well beyond they can dream…

I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is build trust and confidence. A student should feel comfortable asking questions without fear of being judged. Beyond improving grades, a tutor should help students develop study habits, problem-solving skills, and self-belief so they can succeed on their own too. My main strengths are patience…

Tutors should be able to provide students with a deep, thorough understanding of the coursework they are struggling with, while developing their confidence and positive behaviour for learning the respective material at hand. A tutor should not only teach the student the material, but also mentor them to make sure that they can perform effectively…

Mina helped my son gain a great deal of confidence with working out his math, her teaching made him to understand and identify problems. His teacher can not believe the improvement he has made in the class in such a short period. Thanks Mina!

Inside RosemeadowTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 10 student Oliver worked through his exam questions on algebra, with a particular focus on equations involving negative numbers and homework tasks from the equations topic.

Year 9 student Ethan completed a worksheet covering linear equations and foundational algebra skills.

Meanwhile, Year 3 student Lilian tackled basic maths operations and explored the difference between prime and composite numbers to build number sense.

Recent Challenges

In Year 10 trigonometry, a student repeatedly forgot to bring essential tools like their calculator and textbook, which disrupted lesson flow and limited hands-on problem-solving.

"He arrived without his workbook again—couldn't attempt the past paper questions," noted a tutor.

In senior years, absenteeism impacted learning: missing scheduled lessons or not communicating difficulties left gaps before tests in algebra and statistics.

For a Year 5 student, untidy written work during multiplication meant steps were hard to follow, making self-checking nearly impossible.

In each case, progress slowed as time was spent catching up rather than deepening understanding.

Recent Achievements

One Rosemeadow tutor noticed a Year 10 student who previously needed help with simultaneous equations now solving them entirely on her own, showing real independence.

In another session, a high schooler who struggled to distinguish like terms in algebra is now confidently tackling these questions and can explain his steps out loud.

A primary student has started coming prepared each week with specific maths questions she found tricky at home—last time, she worked through all of them without waiting for prompts and showed every step clearly in her notebook.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Campbelltown City Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Ambarvale High School.
