A tutor must always ask the student if they understand what they have been learning and make sure to give them exercises to know for a fact they do understand what they are learning. As mentioned my patience in teaching is my strength . I never give up until a person understands what they are learning. I also believe in practice and love giving…
I think a lot of the more important parts of tutoring is involved in the study technique and supporting students to find the motivation in themselves to study and do the work. Being the person that has got their back. Although of course the specific content they are learning is important as well. In addition a lot of students struggle with…

I believe a biology tutor is all about being able to be the middle man between teachers and students. They are able to act in a professional manner but also can individually suit the needs of a specific student. In doing this tutors are able to fill in those missing links and hopefully create a sense of confidence in students that they might…

Encouraging students on questions they find difficult and nudging them in the right direction to solve problems so they can do it by themselves without requiring help. I believe the most important thing I can do is instil confidence in my students. Hi, Ruhail has been great and his flexibility has helped enormously. He spent 3.5 hours with Casey last weekend as she had a test she was very concerned about. Casey did much better in her test than she would have done and we are already over the moon. Please pass on our thanks.
Yes, we are very pleased that Sophia likes Rebecca and the tutoring seems to be going well. Rebecca obviously has patience and takes the time to explain things so Sophia can follow them and work through the maths, which is exactly what we wanted. The problem with the school is they move along so fast that there is not enough practice time, and we (the parents) are not familiar with what they teach so we can't just help out quickly; we have to re-learn it ourselves first, and then we're probably not good at explaining clearly. That's why it is great having Rebecca who can obviously explain things in a way Sophia understands.
The main thing is that Sophia sees herself as '˜no good at maths', but when something is explained so she understands it, she is very pleased when she can get the right answers. A lot of it is a confidence thing I think, and also her school maths teacher has been quite negative about her work; so hopefully the tutoring will rebuild some of Sophia's general confidence over time, which would be great. Sophia will never be a star at maths, but if she can just get passes instead of always negative marks and comments from school, we will be quite happy with that. Sophia is very good at English/Hums and art; maths is her weak area, and we are very pleased (and actually surprised) that she is sitting through an hour of maths tutoring each week without complaint. We did not know how it would go; we tried one other tutor a few months ago , a retired male maths teacher - and she hated it. So this time we are very happy.
So far so good with Tim. Tim is now tutoring both my kids and both are really happy with him. Results will show in the months to come. It is early days but we are very happy so far.
Biology tutoring in Mount Hutton
For most students, biology doesn't seem that hard. The content isn't that intimidating and if you put in the time, more often than not results will follow.
No wonder most students get discouraged once they move up the curriculum. Getting the results becomes less about putting in the hours by going over the concepts and more about structuring the knowledge and connecting the dots. It's not simple revision anymore, and without someone to guide them, students can easily lose focus.
If you are thinking about finding someone to support your child's learning, we can match you with a local biology tutor in Mount Hutton.
We've found that through guided learning, students are more likely to pick up skills they can use to learn other subjects and even make good decisions in their personal life as well. All we need is to have a chat with you so we can figure out what kind of support your child needs.
And this is how it works.
The tutoring is done at your home or a local library, wherever works for you. And the fees are simple - just an hourly rate, no extra fees.
The first lesson comes as a risk-free trial with a money-back guarantee. That means if for whatever reason your child doesn't click with the tutor right away, no need to worry - you let us know and we set up another trial.
As simple as that.
