For Year 9, Chloe focused on using trigonometric ratios (SOHCAHTOA) to find unknown sides and angles in right triangles, as well as revising formulae for speed, distance, and time through targeted practice questions.
Meanwhile, Year 5 Arielle tackled converting units of measurement and solved a range of fraction problems—including working with mixed fractions—to strengthen her confidence with operations involving decimals.
Recent Challenges
A Year 8 student recently arrived to a tutorial without his notes or school workbook, leaving him unable to follow revision plans for an upcoming exam—"he didn't have any guidelines for revision," noted the tutor.
In Year 10, late logins and persistent distractions became common; one session started 12 minutes late and required almost all answers to be provided just to keep engagement.
For senior English, a student keen to improve spelling often submitted little written material, limiting feedback opportunities on essays and vocabulary work.
When calculators went missing in Year 9 Math lessons using Pi, progress stalled as manual calculation slowed practice.
Recent Achievements
One Green Point tutor recently noticed a Year 11 student who used to wait for hints now asking directly for help with school homework and even requesting extra questions to challenge himself.
In a high school maths session, another student achieved 95% on a follow-up test after previously needing reminders, showing he can now explain his answers without prompting.
Meanwhile, in Year 6 English, a student who struggled to articulate her ideas has started thinking up original examples for figurative language independently and sharing them confidently during lessons.
