What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

It has been more than thirteen years since I first entered the education system, and I have not looked back since. I know that teaching is my calling in life. I wake up every morning with purpose, excited to deliver masterfully crafted lessons and with the joy of trusting the process. I've experienced short-term rewards of delivering powerful lessons where we successfully achieve learning outcomes and long-term rewards where I see students develop confidence and mastery of content, concepts and skills and blossom into bright students.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

As someone with more than 12 years of experience teaching the IB Primary Years Programme and tutoring children and adults with a Bachelor of Arts in Education, I have a ready set of skills, knowledge and resources to tap into. Lesson planning and assessments are second nature to me. My enrolment in the Master of Teaching (Primary) at the University of Melbourne also means I am exposed to current and best practices in teaching each subject. My experience in international schools and fluency in many languages means I can support students from different backgrounds. Connect with me on LinkedIn!

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

1. A tutor must first believe that every child can succeed. Their confidence in the child alone will be able to shift their attitude towards learning. 2. A tutor must thoroughly understand each student and see them as a whole person, not just a *Mathematics student. 3. This is so that with regular assessments, the tutor can craft a learning plan best suited to meet the student's needs, interests and personality, taking them from where they are to where they need to be. 4. A tutor must also have strong content knowledge so they are able to pick up on and address students' misconceptions.
