What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy helping students understand difficult concepts. Often in school, it's hard for a teacher to pay individual attention to students, and due to their shy nature, some students may be unable to ask for help. I enjoy teaching and explaining a difficult concept that they thought they couldn't do and watching their faces as they realise nothing is impossible! It brings me great joy, and every student I help makes me feel like I've truly made a difference in the world. I would love to have this opportunity.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My greatest strengths as a tutor include my communication and organisation skills. Speaking to students in a way that they hear and understand you is a big strength of mine; I am very good at empathising with students and helping them through difficult subjects and topics. At my current job, I work with multiple students at the same time and with my communication and organisational skills, I urge them to set short-term goals and achieve them. I am also a very dependable person when it comes to completing markings and reaching goals in a timely manner.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is listen to them. Listening to them and understanding their point of view when something seems difficult for them, even when it isn't really from my perspective. Then combatting this problem by exploring different ways to present a difficult concept. I do this using analogies and using simple terms. Another thing that I consider very important is being an approachable person, the students should feel comfortable enough to approach the tutor with any questions they may have in order to ensure a complete understanding of a topic
