What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I've done simple tutoring like helping a family member, from that small amount I've loved the feeling and enjoyment you get from seeing the success from your assistance, it's truly an extremely gratifying experience, which is one thing that I strive to feel and achieve with my prospective students
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
Growing up I had an autistic brother and a strong-willed mother of three boys, I was raised to never judge from my first time meeting someone, to be upfront and truthful and I learnt how to talk, understand and grow with an autistic brother, 20 years down the track all these strengths are what I use daily. I believe when tutoring you should be upfront about a students setbacks and their enhancements also! Growing with my brother I also developed skills to be able to commune and help people/children that struggle with autism, both high and low functioning, finally being upfront as I am I believe could help me when it comes to those difficult situations where a student may be struggling and potentially need extra tutoring sessions as well as help me be upfront with parents when it comes to their worries about their child.
Most important things I can do for a student π
Understanding how the child learns is the single most important thing because you can't teach a child with autism the same as another child without, they both learn in completely different ways, personally I found it easier as a auditory/kinesthetic learner, meaning being taught and shown at the same time, whereas some thrive off just being taught how to complete a task, I feel I can excel in all areas of learning directions and it all begins with understanding how the student understands.
