What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Tutoring to me has always been similar to learning on the go, you can help others understand certain problems that they can't follow, while sometimes having gaining a deeper understanding of the subject. This to me has always been my enjoyment when teaching others. It solidifies your understanding and it feels satisfying putting puzzle pieces together and solving a problem.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

I believe that I am a very patient person, and am not quick to reject student's opinions and can tolerate frustration. As a student myself, studying can be tough sometimes and going through content can be frustrating. With empathy in mind, I put patience and constructive feedback above all else to ensure that my tutee is not under pressure and understands the content well. Some of my other strengths comes from explanations; if an idea is too hard for a tutee to grasp, I can come up with simpler examples that are comparatively easier for them to understand.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

I believe that the most important thing for a tutor is to be patient with a student. People have different speeds at which they learn and it is imperative that we as the tutor adjust our expectations for them. Tutoring is more like a dialogue between two people rather than a question and answering session. I want my tutee to go home feeling that they can work on future problems with the methods I teach them, and although good grades are important, I believe the most important thing is learning and gaining skills from education.
