What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I've tutored my friends in math quite a few times and a great feeling is when they've hit a "wall" with them eventually figuring out how to solve or go about a problem. A better feeling is knowing I've taught the fundamentals well and them being able to solve the problem with little to no intervention from my end.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

Firstly, I believe I am quite good at math. I got consistently high math grades in High School, graduating with first honors. I studied engineering in my undergrad and eventually graduated with cum laude standing. And now I'm studying to become a data scientist which involves a lot of math. However, aside from all of these, I believe that my best trait is being able to explain complex ideas simply. Whether it be for work or teaching math to my friends, I've been told I am good at helping people through complex problems or theories.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

The best thing a tutor can do for a student is being able to teach the student so well that the student will eventually not need the tutor's intervention regarding a particular subject. The end goal should always be for the student to be self-sufficient meaning, the tutor should not be intervening at every point in the teaching process or else there'd be no point to it. If the student leaves the tutoring session knowing and understanding much more about a particular concept or topic, that means the tutor has done their job.
