What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy watching students learn new concepts and acquire new skills. Everyone has different paces at learning, but it is always gratifying to see students excited that they solved something they haven't been able to solve before.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
The hard skills I have for tutoring definitely include a strong knowledge base for maths, biology, and chemistry, as I majored in Mathematics and worked as a teaching assistant for Quantitative Reasoning and Intro to Bio at my old university for three semesters. I believe I also have the trust and patience to meet the students where they are and guide them towards the right approach to a problem without giving them the answers straight away. And lastly, I do enjoy helping students learn and grow, because I believe it will help me learn and grow as well.
Most important things I can do for a student π
A tutor can identify room for improvements in the student's learning, whether it is in their knowledge base or in their learning habits, and help them develop strategies to address those gaps. This will develop the student's skills and intuition to learn anything, which I think is the best thing a tutor can do for a student.
