What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy seeing people get more and more confident in learning and I like to think I’m making a positive difference to their schooling experience. I most enjoy teaching students how to be an independent thinker and to try and prove or deeply understand the content that they are taught. I love that tutoring gives me the chance to share my experiences in high school so that they become a more confident and positive learner.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I’m a positive, encouraging and understanding person who wants everyone to try to do their best. I’m also patient and will spend as long as I need to teach someone who is struggling with a concept whether it’s in class or by answering emails, etc. I care about giving quality education and I would take the proper time to give them the resources and clear explanations that they need. I believe that my passion in teaching and maths can make the student more interested and engaged in the lesson. I’m a great communicator and for content not understood, I will explain it in a clearer and concise way
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important things for a tutor to do for a student is to be patient, to be a support network for their learning, and to be open to criticism if the teaching style is not what the student wants. Of course, a tutor needs to be good at explaining the material but it is also important to use one’s own experience to give advise especially in high school where lack of motivation and time management problems typically reside as well as not having the appropriate work study balance. Being a good tutor means clearly explaining concepts but also making learning a fun and positive experience.

Ella seemed to easily grasp the information and didn’t appear to have any troubles. Some more explanation and practice questions on trig graphs, however, would be very helpful.
I would like to go over probability as we didn’t go in depth with it, however, she seems to be understanding the content we did go over. I think more attention is needed in trig graph transformations is needed as it seemed to not be completely clear. I would suggest watching Eddie Woo’s video on trig graphs (https://youtu.be/_JfCy9iPpAM) as well as blackpenredpen (https://youtu.be/UdwRwdLvfMI) and doing some practice questions. Also, I’m happy answering any questions via email if needed.
