What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is having the opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s learning journey. Being able to watch a child grow in confidence and realise they have the ability to achieve whatever goal they set their mind to is a very rewarding experience. This is especially true when you are on the other side as a tutor and no longer the student, you really get to appreciate the profound impact you can make on a child’s academic and personal development.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I’m a very patient person which I think is essential for a tutor to be successful. School work can be confusing and stressful for a lot of people so patience is key when it comes to doing the work. I think that I’m quite an empathetic person, and having been in their exact position not so long ago, I’m able to better understand how the student is feeling and how to then proceed. I’m also quite energetic and adaptable. When things aren’t exactly going to plan I’m not afraid to pivot and try again from a different angle.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important things a tutor can do for a student are as follows:
-create a learning environment that is supportive, where making mistakes is encouraged as it’s the only way to improve.
-make learning something fun and rewarding not just another arduous task that has to be done.
-boost self confidence by showing the student that they can do something, and have the ability to achieve.
