Max was enthusiastic as always. We had great success with graphing, and I think this is because he needs a visual for absorbing and recalling new content. When he writes steps down, his notes are neat.

Max finds it hard not to jump ahead once we get onto solving expressions that involve 2 or more steps. I remind him to write down some working out, which when he does do, helps him to focus on one calculation at a time. He would strongly benefit from spaced repetition, and lots of practise at using this type of judgement.

Max is good with math terms such as 'gradient' and 'intercept'.

Confidence in his ability to 'have a go' and make decisions on his own.

Getting Max to read the content himself really helped with engagement.

Max isn't practised at being confident in himself, taking a dive at a question and seeing what he knows how to do. I'm mixing up delivery of content at the moment, and I hope we can find something that sticks

He's motivated and able to sit down and focus on homework, which is great to see.

His spelling and typing speed, both of which requiring long-term work. He'll get there.
