What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I only had 1-on-1 tutoring experience many years ago with an Engineering student in the Philippines helping him with Calculus. But I had about 8 years teaching experience in college as a part-time instructor of different Math subjects like College Math, Business Math, Geometry (Plane, Solid and Analytic). What I enjoy about most doing this is I also get the chance to review Math, the subject that I love, since I need to get back to past lessons in my school years to be able to teach them to my students. I also feel younger when I am around students.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
When I was teaching college math subjects before, the feedback that I am getting from my students is that I simplify the lessons to them, so they get to understand them easily. I believe that is my greatest strength as a tutor, explaining the principles behind the lesson for better understanding and appreciation of the student.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I think the most important things that a tutor can do for a student is to present the lesson in a way that it is more understandable that how it is being presented at school. That way, the student will develop interest in the subject and will help understand the lessons better. It is also important for a tutor to understand where the difficulty of the students is coming from to be able to come up with a plan on how to help them.
