What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I have always, even in my mid-teens (15-17), enjoyed helping and guiding other people, whether it be sport, academics, mental health, or just a generally bad day. I always engaged with my teachers, and I have learned more than expected from then when it comes to helping others achieve something, including various things that I cannot achieve myself, which sometimes makes me even happier.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am a very analytical thinker, and I have learned several way to approach said situations from my teachers on-and-off over many years. I was also home-schooled a few times by my parents, so I am very familiar with student-age education beyond the classroom. I can also think outside the box when necessary, and have developed the belief that all participants should share ideas together, and learn from one another. Everything is a learning experience, and as such, everything is a chance to grow as a person, in more ways than one.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The actual academics itself, while being at the core of the tutoring, is not the most valuable aspect. From my experience, most students do not have the care or respect for their instructors, and mutual respect in particular is essential, because mutual trust is otherwise close to impossible for many people. You must find a balance between being their authority figure, and being their trustworthy friend. Without this, communication is difficult to establish, get alone succeed with.
