What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

One of the things I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing my students progress and gain confidence. One of my students was struggling with maths and was very unmotivated. We worked for a few weeks, and I could see her starting to understand concepts and solve problems independently. She improved her grades but also became more confident in her abilities, which made her excel in other subjects. Seeing her transformation and knowing I played a role in it was very fulfilling. Moreover, it was fulfilling to see her parents proud of her achievements.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

My strength as a tutor is my ability to connect with my students and create a comfortable learning environment. I am patient and understand that everyone has different learning styles. For example, I had a visual learner student who liked to use drawings or objects to understand concepts. So, I used a variety of things, such as pens, biscuits or basic pizza drawings, to help her grasp complex concepts. This approach helped my students understand and retain information better. I am also very organised and structured in my tutoring approach and always come to sessions with a clear plan.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe the most important things a tutor can do for students are to provide personalised support, create a comfortable learning environment and help students develop effective study habits. Providing personalised support entails understanding each student's learning style, strengths and weaknesses. Creating a comfortable learning environment would encourage students to build trust and confidence. Finally, helping students build study habits would allow them to continue to excel in their studies. All these are key to a student's ongoing success in their academic and extracurricular activity
