What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy being able to provide a fresh perspective on a subject that students may dislike because of negative experiences with a specific teacher or not being taught in a way that makes sense to them and is best suited to their teaching style. However, by taking an interest in their personal learning style and seeing them grow and evolve as a person and student to gain a new and more holistic perspective of a subject is what I enjoy most about tutuoring. It opens new doors for students to truly understand their potential and interests for the future.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe my strengths would be to understand the perspective of others and also be able to communicate the needs of the hour without imposing upon their sense of autonomy. Students, especially younger ones perceive the education system to be working against them in most cases, but through understanding and empathy for issues and workload, I want to convey that the reality is the stark opposite. Also, I am able to communicate and alter my tone to be more simple and understandable to the specific age group at hand, building rapport and making lessons more comfortable and fun as a result.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Being able to empathise with yet at the same time be stern in pushing them to their limits when they themselves might not have self belief I think is crucial. As a tutor it is not only my duty to boost then academia of a student but also make learning and curiosity a part of their identity to ensure that they continue to embark upon the quest for knowledge without it feeling like a burden. It also important to be able to understand the individual priorities, problems and learning styles that a student has to ensure that each lesson is optimised in a manner that maximises their growth.
