What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
From my past experience of teaching other people, I gained so much joy when they can achieve their desired grades. I feel like being able to help someone to be successful is something that bring unmeasurable happiness. Hence, starting small by being a tutor for a student is something that I will certainly enjoy doing. I also love to meet and engage with new people. I believe that engaging with new people will encourage me to get better understanding of people's personalities and bring unexpected lessons.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I consider myself as someone who doesn't easily lose my patience. I will totally understand if a student is incapable of learning quickly since I have experienced teaching some friends who aren't. Encouraging and reminding them that they are capable will help them go through their difficult learning process, and that is something that I would absolutely do. As a IB Diploma Program graduate, I also have strong experience and some tips (especially in solving math problem) that I can share with my students.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Patience and not comparing them with the others. I believe that each student has their own pace of learning. Lack of patience and comparing them with others will certainly hamper their learning process and will give them less confidence on their studies. Understanding the most effective way of learning for each student is also crucial. When I was in high school, we were asked to do a test to know better what our learning method is. A student with an abstract-random learning method will need different kind of assistance in learning than one with concrete-sequential learning method.
