What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love to tutor. I love to see the lightbulb moment when a student finally understands a concept. I love seeing the improvement progression over the days/weeks/months. I love when I refer back to a previous concept we covered, and the student remembers it. I get the most incredible sense of accomplishment when a student feels accomplished. There's nothing quite like it.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe in equity. I struggled in school. My parents weren't very educated and couldn't help me with my homework. They couldn't afford a tutor. Now that I'm in a position to help students understand what I struggled with, I want nothing more than to make it easier on those who can't afford to pay the extravagant costs of a tutor. I have and do tutor wealthy families, and I certainly charge them for it. I also tutor at a severely discounted rate or even on a volunteer basis sometimes for those who can't afford it otherwise. Tutoring allows you to know your students better and know their individual needs. Students who go see their teachers during office hours for tutoring perform better because their questions are answered in one-on-one tutoring.
