What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
There is a feeling of fulfillment and satisfaction when someone you are teaching learns something new. During the times I have experienced tutoring, I did feel that I have this natural urge to make sure the kids understand their schoolwork. This made me think that tutoring may be one of the viable career options for me.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I have the patience required for teaching, especially for those who are struggling on a particular subject. I am also detail-oriented particularly in maths. Because I completed the Kumon Math program, solving math problems have pretty much been hammered into me (haha) and I believe having a solid foundation on the basics of math is a determinant of whether or not a student will struggle on more complex math topics. I think recognizing this is one of my strenghts.
I am also very nice and cheerful, and will try to promote a pleasant tutoring experience for the student.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
In a lot of cases, students have to get a tutor because they are struggling in school. So, from the outset, students may already be feeling some frustration about their classes. On top of that they have to do extra tutoring lessons, which I imagine, they are not exactly looking forward to. I think the best thing a tutor can do is to relieve this stress so they may have a better experience in school. A tutor can do this by helping the student understand the lessons, and also by having a friendly, relatable approach, so that the student feels comfortable and open to discussing their struggles.
