What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I love the sense of confidence great tutoring can inspire in students. Indeed, when students who have sought my help end up achieving their goals, I get a great sense of pride and achievement over their ability to apply what they have learnt to wider scenarios. I also have an immense passion for the subjects I wish to tutor and I find that oftentimes, students ask questions that help me see the subject in a new light or the force me to investigate deeper into a topic area that I had previously not paid much attention to.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think my strengths lie in my ability to communicate with students and to cater to their individual needs. Oftentimes, children aren't succeeding because they detest the subject and my strength as a tutor is that I can help them find relevance and passion in the subject. I recognise that learning is a confusing process and it's hard to know where to start so I pride myself in being able to outline precise, actionable steps for my students so that they have a clear pathway to success that can be shaped to their individual goals.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe the best thing a tutor can do is to inspire confidence and a deep appreciation for lifelong learning in the student. While many students will not utilise the specific knowledge they learnt within a certain HSC subject later on, the ability to know how to learn; how to structure a study timetable, how to find a work-life balance, are all enduring benefits for the student. Furthermore, it is impossible to succeed without a degree of confidence and my role as a tutor is to guide the student into developing a growth mindset and to not be thrown off course by challenges.
