What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Helping and witnessing students gradually gain confidence and belief in their own abilities and potential is the most gratifying aspect of tutoring for me. Having recently completed school, I relate well to the stresses and pressures of learning and having the opportunity to use my knowledge and skills to make this process easier and more enjoyable for other students is something that I am very grateful for.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
In 2022, I achieved an ATAR of 99.80. Contributing to this were my marks of 97/100 in Advanced Mathematics, 47/50 in Mathematics Extension 1, and 93/100 in Biology. However, beyond my marks I believe that I have a range of skills that make me a good tutor. Having recently graduated school I understand that learning can sometimes be a stressful and difficult process. Having this fresh experience allows me to relate well to students and provide meaningful support. Further, I have a patient and individually-tailored approach that is derived from my philosophy that tutoring should empower students with the skills and confidence to learn and succeed independently.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
As learning can be a difficult and stressful process, I as a tutor have the important role of guiding students to improve their abilities so that they gain confidence and develop enjoyment and an appreciation for learning that will serve them well in the future. Further, the classroom may not always feel like a safe space to provide answers or contribute to discussions for fear of making an error. As such, I strive to create an environment where mistakes are encouraged for greater learning and improvement and where the individual needs of the student are met. Ultimately, I seek to act as a mentor for students to not only assist their academic results but more importantly their learning and study habits and skills as well as their enjoyment of school.
