What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
building a rapport with the kids is my favourite part about tutoring. I firmly believe that without this, children are far less likely to learn concepts, apply concepts and make their own effort to reinforce concepts through homework etc.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I think i'm good at building relationships with children. I have run my own youth group before, have tutored privately for 4 years and have worked at Redfield college as a Teachers Aid. At all of these places, i have been successful at what i do because i develop a raport with the children and their parents trust that i have their bests interests at heart, and that their kids ACTUALLY want to be there, instead of seeing tutoring as a chore.
Most important things I can do for a student π
Being a tutor is about allowing the child to realise their own potential, by arming them with practical skills (learning concepts etc) but also giving them the confidence that they can understand things that once seemed complicated. I believe that once a child understands how to learn and process new things, their confidence and ability to apply this mentality across all things is fostered. Developing a healthy rapport with kids through this process is the foundation to their learning and success.
