A tutor must be able to communicate effectively with a student in order for the student to grasp complex mathematical concepts. Since I was also a student sitting the HSC, I am able to put myself in the student's shoes and thus effectively tackle anything limiting their understanding. In addition, a tutor must be able to identify the student's weaknesses. As a tutor, we have limited time so we must spend as much as we can working on the student's weaknesses rather than reinforcing strengths.
