What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy helping others gain confidence as learners. Everyone can learn! And everyone can get better at learning. When students begin to believe in themselves and use problem-solving methods on their own, they can do anything! That is the kind of confidence that created the Bill Gates-es and Jeff Bezos-es of the world. I love seeing students start to believe in themselves as they gain confidence beause the sky is the limit, and I can't wait to see how they'll change the world.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My background is in Chemical Engineering, so I am your go-to tutor for all things math, chemistry, and engineering. My strength as a tutor is that I know why math and science are applicable in everyday life, so I can give learning a purpose when it may seem abstract and irrelevant to your child. For example, did you know that algebra (well, linear algebra) is the reason that you can listen to digital music, and integrals are used in insulin pumps to regulate blood sugar for diabetics? Math and science are everywhere! Once your child knows that, they'll be hungry to know more about it.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is teach them how to critically reason through a problem. Critical thinking is a life-long skill that will serve them well long after they graduate high school. Students who learn this skill will not only score better on exams, but will also make better life-decisions.
