What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy imparting knowledge onto students and helping them through tough problems or activities until they understand and can do them without my help. I feel proud as a tutor when students reach that stage. I also like being creative and finding new ways to engage with students, especially younger students who tend to have a shorter attention span, such as by playing little games, using different colours, and using drawings and doodles.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
One of my strengths as a tutor is that I am patient. I will take the time and effort to work through concepts with my students. Even when they get frustrated or want to give up, I can remain calm and encourage them to continue. Another strength is that I am tenacious. When I feel that I have to change things up to keep students engaged I will try new ways to do so without giving up until I have found the right way.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Definitely listening to our students. While we are there to teach them and help them along, each student is different and learns in a different way. Through previous tutoring experiences, I found that when I asked my students "What works for you?" or "How could we improve how we do our lessons?" and listening to what the students say and implementing the, it greatly benefited the students and also helped us have a better tutor-student working relationship which made lessons run smoothly and easily.
