What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I really enjoy helping others. I have been informally tutoring since I was around 13 years old, helping younger students read while waiting to be picked up from school. During my times tutoring I never really felt as though I was stressed out, as teaching was something that came naturally to me.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

My biggest strength as a tutor is being able to explain concepts so that younger students are able to understand instructions or activities. Another strength I have is patience for the students learning.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

One of most important things a tutor can have is patience, sometimes students need concepts explained a certain way before they'll understand, or they may need multiple tries to get a question correct. Another important thing is being able to explain instructions clearly, as a lot of students can come from refugee backgrounds where English isn't their first or second language. Making sure the students understand their work is the most important thing though, I've learned that a lot of younger and migrant children may say they understand the work when they don't.
