What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I have always been interested in assisting younger students discover the wonders of how the world works. I spent some time in India when I was 16 helping younger students with Maths and while at secondary college, I would volunteer to help younger students achieve a greater understanding of their STEM subjects, not for the grades they hoped to achieve, but to gain a deeper understanding of the universe through chemistry, physics and even a connection with the history of humankind through Mathematics. I hope to impart passion about what they study and how their studies interact with the world

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am described as a person with patience and tolerance. I am calm when I need to impart information and look for the most effective way to communicate, whether it be verbally or graphically. I am softy spoken by nature and rarely find life frustrating. I have an elderly Nana, who is disabled and very hearing challenged, I am often the one who is selected to help her understand her television or help her with daily duty's because of how I convey myself. This is the loud laughter of my younger brother also means I am often asked to help all her elderly friends as well!

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The first thing would be to establish a plan of goals and expectations and help the student identify their role in this plan. Once a tutor has an idea of the expectation of the parents/school/ students then only can progress take shape, and this might have many forms and variations as to how this is executed as the student grows or stalls. So, although a tutor must have, sound knowledge themselves of the subject and the expectations set out for them and the student, they must also process a creative flexibility to keep moving forward.
