What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
Independence
Tutoring is a job where you decide the direction of your role. There is no one looking over your shoulder and there is no one holding your hand. You are thrown out into the studentβs world, and you learn to adapt on the fly. This independence really does help develop your problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills. Not to mention, the flexibility of tutoring means you can balance your commitments if anything else in life comes up. As a tutor, you have the power to decide what to do with your responsibility.

Connection
The connections you form with students and even your peers within the tutoring industry are powerful and important. From learning about what makes them tick as a student, to learning their fears and insecurities, to learning their life goals and ambitions, to even learning their life philosophies, you see different perspectives about life and how to approach different situations. You are also a role model for your students.

Impact
The impact that a tutor can have on a student should not be understated. You could be the reason a student develops a greater sense of purpose or self-esteem at school. You could be the one that sets a student straight on the true and good path to success and fulfilment. You could help give a student confidence to pursue their field of interest with more conviction. You could be the one that puts a student over the edge and into the course they wanted, which influences their life trajectory forever.
