What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Although I haven’t done any tutoring as of yet, I do like the idea of it. I absolutely love maths and I think it’s a shame that it has such a bad reputation. It’s not something students should be fearful and hateful of. It should be considered as more of a fun puzzle to solve. The sense of achievement you get when you solve a difficult question is so rewarding. I think being able to impart that kind of thinking on students would be wonderful. Seeing them gain confidence in the subject and, hopefully, achieve higher grades would give me so much joy.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think my greatest strength is the fact that I actually really love the subjects (maths, physics, and chemistry). I hope my love for it would impart on the student and act as motivation to study outside of school/tutoring. I personally really like to understand fully what I’m doing when solving problems. I don’t like just plugging numbers in to formulae or memorising methods to solve problems. I think that’ll help me be able to pass on my knowledge to others. I’m also normally neat, tidy, and logical when I solve problems. That clarity, I hope, would help students be able to better understand

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is show passion for the subject. I had some fantastic teachers in high school who clearly loved the subjects they were teaching and explained content in a clear and concise manner. For me, the passion they showed meant I was excited to go to the class and learn. I think the teachers that explained where formulae were derived from, at least to some extent, helped a lot. It made me actually understand what I was doing rather than just shoving numbers into random formulas or memorising methods to solve problems.
