What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I have coached children my whole life through soccer and boxing. It brings me great satisfaction when a student finally picks something up that they have been struggling with. Instead of losing your patience and giving up on them spend that little bit extra and they will get there, everybody develops at different times, which people sometimes tend to forget.
One more factor is the confidence growth. When you are unsure about how to solve something, you start doubting yourself. When a student is confident, its an amazing things to witness.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
One thing about being a boxing coach takes a load of patience and resilience. It's a very technical and complicated sport to start of with, so it constantly builds my patience and calmness around children.
I believe I am a very warm and personable character so I can develop a good relationship with people/children I am working with. I am very good at getting the best out of a person.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
For me being able to build a relationship with the student so that student looks forward to your sessions so they can learn but importantly learn whilst having some fun as opposed to tutor being too serious and draining the fun out of learning.
A tutor also needs to understand how to interact with a student, work to their strengths not their weaknesses.
Also building their confidence, if a student is doing well give them the appraisal they deserve. Tell them how well they are doing and remind them of fear they have progressed!
