What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy helping students understand something that they have been struggling with for a while. I like having a positive influence on students lives, potentially turning a subject they hated into one they like.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am a very patient person and am able to read people pretty easily. I am able to communicate well with the student, re-explaining myself in a different way if necessary. I am also passionate about maths which is always a good quality when teaching/tutoring.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
To understand that students aren’t going to magically understand concepts they have been struggling with for a while. It’s important that tutors don’t put pressure into students to hurry up and understand as that will only cause more stress. If the student doesn’t understand, it’s up to the tutor to re-word themselves and explain the concept in another way. Overall, being patient and reassuring the student it’s okay are the most important aspects of being a tutor.
