What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I like the idea of helping someone grow intellectually and achieve their goals. I also like the challenge of finding ways to explain difficult concepts in the most accessible or appropriate manner to people.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

First of all, I am a passionate student studying a Bachelor of Mathematics and as such I have a good knowledge of maths and a keen interest in helping people understand it. What's more, I think that I am personable and understanding when it comes to difficulties in maths. I would never look down on someone for not understanding something and I would view it as a failure on my part if I weren't able to explain something well to someone. In relation to this, I think I have a good ability to treat things in a 'reductive' way in that if there's a concept that relies on many other concepts, I'll try to explain each concept so that there aren't any lost links. That's how I tend to teach myself as well as others.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

A tutor's priority should always be the wellbeing of the student. They should always be considerate of their emotions and never seek to speak down to them, intimidate them, or generally make them feel stupid. A tutor should really aim to steer a student's thinking onto the right track so that they can effectively learn concepts without falling into common traps and also so that they can eventually learn new things independently.
