What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy getting to know my students and understanding where they currently are at their learning, then figuring out how I can make each individual grow and flourish. It brings me great job to see the improvement, but I can also say that have learnt as much from my learners as they have learnt from me.My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths as a tutor is my patience, which is very important when dealing with younger students because not everyone gets it straight away, and that is okay. I let each student work at their own pace because everyone will eventually get to where they need to be. I am also a very creative person and I love to make my lessons fun. When I volunteered at my school as part of the 8-Week STEM and Math programs, I designed lessons that were engaging and out of this world unique. We combined maths with visual arts, as students used creative art supplies to learn fractions, decimals and percentagesMost important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important things a tutor can do for a student is build confidence in the student. I've encountered a few students in the Year 5 STEM and Maths program at my school who were quiet and I began to realise that they didn't believe that they could learn STEM or improve their math skills because they thought they were 'dumb'. I quickly turned this thinking around as I knew the only way I could teach them was to build their initial confidence as they threw themselves in the deep end. I was very understanding with the students and this definitely paid off at the end of the program.Subjects Tutored 🎓
